Please remember when purchasing your airline tickets, the tour begins in Beijing October 12, 2007 (arrival city) and ends in Shanghai (departure city) October 24, 2007.Flights from the U.S. require a departure date of October 11th to insure arrival on the 12th in Beijing.

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 01: Arrive Beijing
Welcome to the capital of Beijing. Upon arrival at Beijing airport, transfer to the Beijing International Hotel (5 star - 4 nights). Free evening to get some rest.
Day 02: Beijing
American breakfast in hotel. Morning orientation will be on the bus. A full day of touring Beijing city including Tian'an Men Square and after lunch, the Forbidden City. Explore its chambers and view the priceless treasures of China's past. From the bustling energy of the city we move on to a quiet side of old Beijing and enjoy a rickshaw Hutong Tour. Roast Peking Duck Dinner.
Day 03: Beijing
American breakfast in hotel. Morning Tai chi Demonstration located in a nearby park. Travel by private coach to the Sacred Way of the Ming Emperors and walk among the magnificent animal sculptures guarding the tomb area entrance. Tour a Jade Factory and watch the craftsmen carving this traditional stone of China. After lunch, we'll continue on our journey to the Great Wall at little visited Juyongguan Pass.
Day 04: Beijing
American breakfast in hotel. Visit Yong He Gong Tibetan Buddhist Temple, the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in China outside of Tibet. After lunch, Walk the sacred grounds of the Temple of Heaven where each year the Emperor came to pray for the wealth and health of the nation. Dinner at “Lao Beijing” old style Beijing noodle house.
Day 05: Beijing / Xi'an
American breakfast in hotel. Transfer to airport for flight to Xi'an. Upon arrival at Xian airport, transfer to 5 star Hotel - 2 nights). Relax and enjoy sampling some of China's finest Green Tea, then we'll tour the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and after dinner, wander the Muslim Quarter and Market Place.
Day 06: Xi'an
American breakfast in hotel. The day commences with a visit to the Terracotta Warriors Museum. After lunch, tour to a Silk Rug Factory where you can watch the craftswomen hand knotting precious silk rugs. Tonight enjoy a local favorite Xi'an Dumpling Dinner.
Day 07: Xi'an/Chongqing
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Chongqing. Upon arrival visit the Luohan Temple, a Buddhist Temple that dates from A.D.1000. After dinner we'll transfer to board the Victoria Cruise (5 star - 3 nights).
Day 08 & 09: Yangtze River Cruise
Onboard activities feature lectures on Chinese history and culture, Tai Chi lessons, and calligraphy demonstrations. Narrative by knowledgeable river guides while sailing through the Three Gorges. See below for sample river itinerary.
Day 7 9:00 pm depart Chongqing
Day 8 Shore excursion to Shibaozhai or Wanzhou
Day 9 Sail through Qutang Gorge/Wu Gorge
Excursion to Daning River Small Gorges or Shennong Stream
Sail through Three Gorges shiplocks
Day 10 8:00 am arrive Yang Jia Wang Morning visit Three Gorges Dam site
12:00 noon disembark Yichang

Day 10: Yichang / Shanghai
Arrive in Yichang at noon, meet and transfer to the airport for flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival at Shanghai Hongqiao airport, transfer to 5 star Hotel - 3 nights) for rest.
Day 11: Shanghai
American breakfast in hotel. Visit the beautiful Jade Buddha Temple, Relax in the Old TownBazaar Huxinting Tea House. Enjoy some free time after lunch to explore the Bazaar area. Meet at hotel for dinner.
Day 12: Shanghai
American breakfast in hotel. Free day in beautiful Shanghai!
Day 13: Shanghai
Transfer to the airport for the flight back.
