CATS Announces 2026 Theatrical Production

As CATS enters its 32^nd year, its April/May 2026 show at the Nevada Theatre is Rashomon, by Michael Kanin and Fay Kanin and directed by Sonny Alforque.  Rashomon was an Akira Kurosawa film in 1950 and has been hailed as one of his finest.  This play’s Broadway Premiere in 1959 (starring Rod Steiger and Claire Bloom) got rave reviews and was nominated for three Tony awards.  Rashomon is based on stories by Ryunosuke Akutagawa and explores the notions of truth and justice.  Sonny Alforque will make his directorial debut for CATS.  We are excited about his vision and his commitment to authenticity.  CATS is reprising Rashomon after twenty-six years. “Rashomon” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com
